TUTUKAKI began in 2016 at Stay-here in Gouzawei, Hualien, then returned to Taipei in 2020 under its current name. Its scones draw on flavor memories from travel and are shaped around a crisp, crumbly exterior, a substantial center, and a naturally split “smiling” top. The recipes use French imported butter, Japanese flour, and milk from Taiwanese small farmers. The range includes rotating sweet flavors, such as Dubai Cocoa Scone made with Valrhona cocoa powder, while the seasonal Strawberry Cream Cheese Scone Tart combines a split scone with fresh strawberries, cream cheese, and honey. TUTUKAKI also presents the British pairing of clotted cream and jam.
