TAIWAN DYE, founded by Yi Fan, is dedicated to reviving the traditional Taiwanese craft of betel nut dyeing. During the Edo period in Japan, betel nut dye was used exclusively for the 'betel nut black' color reserved for nobles and samurai. Yi Fan chose to bring this lost technique back to modern life. The brand uses betel nuts as the primary raw material to create naturally dyed textiles such as socks, showcasing the fashionable aesthetics of local Taiwanese craftsmanship. Their products were exhibited at the 'Good Ping Brand' in Bangkok, attracting attention from design retailers. TAIWAN DYE also collaborates with iStudio COLOR on co-branded items and actively participates in Asian sock industry exchanges, including visits by Japanese brands to the Shetou production area. The brand aims to combine natural dyeing with contemporary design, allowing traditional crafts to continue in new forms.
