BAO Needle Felt turns Taiwanese old-fashioned bakery memories into needle-felted food and animal forms. The name comes from the founder’s surname, Bao, while the creative direction draws on childhood memories of traditional Taiwanese bread and the human warmth associated with it. Wool fibres are layered, shaped and repeatedly punched by hand to build croissants, sandwiches, rolls, cats, dogs and birds with tactile surface details and lifelike fur textures. Its range includes brooches, charms, zip pouches, large decorative pieces and gift sets, alongside pet portraits made from customer photographs and needle-felting classes. Based in Taoyuan, the studio also develops hands-on experiences around its nostalgic bread series.
