Miaoisland 喵島

Since 2020, Miaoisland has worked from Taiwan as a handmade ceramics studio, shaping small observations from daily life into clay objects. Its island creatures are deliberately left without facial expressions, giving viewers room to complete each piece with their own feelings. The range includes vases, serving plates, ceramic figures, pudding-shaped vessels, the Fuji Mountain herbal jelly series, colorful glazed pieces, and incense holders. Some figures show cats holding chickens, bears, rabbits, or pudding, with variations such as calico patterns. Hand-shaped clay becomes objects and ornaments for everyday companionship, appearing in ivory, yellow, red, blue, and other glaze colors. The name comes from the founder’s naming concept, while the studio’s work centers on clay, daily impressions, and the open-ended character of expressionless figures.
