塗狗 togo

The name Togo is a homophone of the Chinese name 塗狗 and expresses the idea that each piece can be carried away on an adventure. Its creator, a graduate of Tainan National University of the Arts, began with art-class training and turned her drawing skills toward hand-shaped clay after encountering ceramics at university. Everyday encounters with small animals inform the work, especially the playful postures of cats and dogs. The range includes ceramic figures, ornaments, and incense holders shaped as Shiba Inu, Jack Russell terriers, orange cats, and small tigers; selected designs have a hole in the head for incense sticks or dried flowers. Another series imagines a dinosaur carrying an island on an adventure, pairing dinosaur-shaped ceramic planters with succulents so the plant becomes part of the form. Dog, tabby cat, pug, and donkey vessels and sculptures extend the animal-based collection.
