Based in Madou, Tainan, Madoupim develops processed foods from Taiwan’s Wendan pomelo to address seasonal oversupply and the limits of appearance-based sales. Its whole-pomelo approach uses the flesh and peel, along with healthy fallen fruit selected before disposal, to create pomelo Japanese-style sauce, pomelo fruit vinegar, pomelo-peel brown sugar blocks, and spice products. The brown sugar blocks combine pomelo peel aroma with traditional brown sugar for a drinkable format, while the sauces and vinegar extend the fruit into everyday food applications. The brand’s agricultural transition grew from partner orchards affected by severe weather and unsold fruit, turning selected produce into sauces, vinegar, beverages, and gift foods rather than leaving it unused.
