Founded by returning young residents together with the Qishan Sugar Factory Community Cooperative, Qishan Marvel works from Kaohsiung’s former Qishan Sugar Factory and connects local agriculture with sugar-industry history. Its central project, “whole-plant banana use,” explores separate applications for banana leaves, flowers, fruit, stalks, pseudostems and sap through circular-economy projects, environmental education and terroir-based products. The range includes local agricultural goods, gift assortments and hands-on rural activities. Experiences include banana-grove tours, sugar-factory interpretation, treasure-hunt games, puffed-sugar making and board games, linking plant knowledge with Qishan’s industrial and community history. In the name, “Golden” refers to the economic booms created by sugar and bananas, while “Qishan” names the hometown and “Marvel” reflects the mountain town’s setting and role as a gateway to eastern Kaohsiung.
