研石造物 X 金玉良研 X 永續材質圖書館 Hualien Stone Workshop

Hualien Stone Workshop begins with stone from Taiwan’s east coast and is developed by the Stone & Resource Industry R&D Center. Its work explores how stone can move into furniture, objects, and design applications. The project collaborates with Hualien County’s “Jade Research” initiative and the Plastics Industry Development Center’s Sustainable Materials Library, bringing stone research, gemstone design, and material innovation into one framework. A key process is to reinterpret offcuts from stone production and transform them into furniture and everyday objects through cross-disciplinary design. The project also combines artificial intelligence with circular design to reconsider how stone can be used. Material displays show samples with varied textures, labels, and QR codes, documenting the materials and their possible applications.
