VERDE begins with Taiwanese serpentine stone, connecting everyday objects to the material’s original role in architecture. Founded by Chih-Yu Chang in 2019, the brand belongs to Santai Mining, a company that continues to extract serpentine stone, and turns this building material into domestic objects. Its range includes aroma stones, pen holders, trays, bookends, desktop organisers, furniture and architectural applications. Each piece retains the stone’s weight, tactile surface and natural veining, while considering how an object occupies a room. VERDE also developed Quarry Air, a forest-wood fragrance built from black spruce, fir, frankincense, cypress and patchouli for use with its serpentine diffusers. Green stone trays, bookends and organisers bring the material into settings involving cups, jewellery, books and desk supplies, with playful details set against the stone’s grounded texture.
