UENG KEE 翁記

UENG KEE 翁記 has spent more than six decades making clasp frames and clasp bags in Taiwan. The family workshop continues the craft of the late grandfather, with four sons running the frame-making side and the mother sewing each bag body on a vintage sewing machine. After stitching, the father joins the sewn leather or fabric body to a metal clasp frame made in the workshop, creating the bag’s fitted opening and closing structure. Its product range centres on clasp bags, including coin purses, two-compartment coin purses, nested bags, card holders, wallets, and small bags with key rings or chain straps. Surface patterns include geometric florals, leopard print, checks, and brown-and-beige motifs; some items are marked as made in Taiwan.
