Founded by Tsai Hsin-yu after five years of snow-boot importing, 30 Leather develops and designs handmade leather shoes in Taipei’s East District. The studio brings together shoemakers with six decades of experience, combining contemporary silhouettes with traditional Taiwanese shoemaking methods. Its independently developed lasts are shaped for Asian foot forms. The range includes monk shoes, Oxfords, Chelsea boots, casual shoes, loafers, and Mary Janes, with women’s sizes extending to both smaller and larger feet. Shoes are made with genuine leather; selected waterproof boots use waterproof leather produced by a Taiwanese tannery, a material originally used for outdoor functional footwear and adapted here to everyday fashion shoes. Certain styles feature breathable pigskin linings, pigskin footbeds, high-density latex cushioning, foamed rubber slip-resistant soles, and leather welts secured with welt stitching.
