Cicala Pu 喜樂鋪手工鞋

Named after the Italian word for cicada, Cicala Pu 喜樂鋪手工鞋 was founded in Taipei in 2014. Its name refers to transformation, while the brand’s footwear applies that idea to everyday silhouettes. The founder moved from medical work into shoemaking, developing handmade doll shoes, ballet flats, flat shoes, pointed flats, Oxfords, loafers, sandals, casual shoes, and high heels. Materials include imported Italian leather as well as limited natural and vegetable-tanned leathers. Shoe shapes are formed with an Eastern last that has been used for 30 years, then paired with a double-layer latex and leather insole for a soft, close fit. The brand works through pre-orders and small-batch production, usually making only one or two pairs in each size for a style. Handmade custom orders can also accommodate size 21 and larger sizes.
