Island Soaps builds its vegan soaps around plant oils such as coconut and olive oil, including a household soap made for everyday cleaning. The maker first encountered soapmaking while living at home in New York and recorded the first soap cut in 2020; now based in Tainan, she brings a graphic design background to colour planning, marbled patterns and paper-belly-band packaging. The range includes rectangular marble-pattern soaps, pale pink round soaps, natural shampoo bars and household soaps, accompanied by perforated and flower-shaped draining soap dishes. Each marbled bar reveals a different pattern when cut, even within the same batch. The maker handles the formula, scent blending, cutting, printing and trimming of each paper band, preserving visible traces of hand production while using plastic-free packaging and Taiwan-made production.
