Dawn Creative draws inspiration from the I Ching philosophy of "change" and "fusion," reinterpreting traditional culture through contemporary design. After a decade living in New York, the founder returned to Taiwan and was struck by the island's convenience, diversity, and inclusive lifestyle. In 2019, the brand launched its signature piece, "Lucky Toad" (Zhao Cai Jiu Ji), a modern reimagining of the thousand-year-old legend of "Liu Hai Playing with the Golden Toad" from the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. The design team spent 18 months developing the toad, which combines three auspicious symbols: wealth attraction, treasure gathering, and fulfillment of wishes. Since its launch, over 50,000 Lucky Toads have been distributed across Taiwan. The brand name "Dawn" (Xiao in Chinese) signifies the moment of sunrise and a deeper understanding beyond mere knowledge. The product line centers on the Lucky Toad, along with related cultural creative items. These are sold through numerous physical retail locations across Taiwan, including Syntrend Creative Park, Huashan 1914 Future City, CKS Memorial Hall Quhuo, Breeze Center Artifacts counter, and TSUTAYA BOOKSTORE Songshan store. Dawn Creative aims to showcase Taiwan's cultural character and aesthetic through original design, allowing traditional culture to evolve and enter modern life.
