A child’s dust-mite-related asthma and atopic dermatitis led founder Chang Cheng-Chien to turn two decades of vacuum-cleaner use into product development. Founded in New Taipei City in 2011, Yates 亞堤斯 focuses on cordless vacuum cleaners. Its development process covers design, tooling, testing, revision, and assembly, with Taiwanese suppliers involved throughout. The range includes MD-860S, MD-880, MD-880S, and the CV-X1 launched in 2023. MD-880S uses a patented DC constant-voltage circuit module for instant pressure and speed compensation, while the MD-880 series applies a low-frequency design. CV-X1 weighs 0.98 kg and combines a Taiwan-made battery, Japanese motor, and patented airflow duct intended to maintain suction. The parent company, Cheng Yang Enterprise, provides metal tooling, cold forging, stamping, and surface-treatment capabilities.
