里恩太太 SEVERUS LIAN

Flowers, small animals, and ordinary wishes form the narrative material of SEVERUS LIAN. After graduating from Cambridge School of Art in 2020, the artist began working as a freelance illustrator and picture-book creator in Taipei. Her images combine textured surfaces, digital media, and hand-drawn lines, often using gentle colours and playful, energetic marks. The practice extends across picture books, illustrated booklets, stickers, postcards, fabric patterns, animal-shaped objects, and illustrated technology accessories. Launched in 2024, the “Spirit Tree Village” series imagines spirits born inside magical tree hollows. Each character answers a specific everyday wish: walking a dog, bringing out warm bread, petting a cat, or creating a moment to rest. When those wishes disappear, the spirits must reconsider their own place. Lian also created the UK-published picture book The Lonely Tiger and adapted her illustrations for phone cases, earbud cases, and magnetic water bottles.
