Founded in Taipei in June 2003, Dot Design began with visual and product design before launching the DOT design brand in 2011. Its everyday objects draw on Taiwanese cultural references, including classic window-grille patterns, across tea ware, cookware, storage, gardening tools, writing instruments and tableware. Key products include the Dian Cha Taiwanese tea collection, a fire-resistant steaming casserole and a rice-husk beach toy set. Since 2017, the studio has explored sustainable design through recyclable plastics and plastic-free materials, including cups made with natural bamboo fibre, plant-based starch and recycled coffee grounds. Its work combines varied materials and craft processes in functional household products.
